Day 26...2008 .happy birthday to her.
Well...the plan was...
to have a small birthday with a couple friends at our house...
We woke up this morning to my second son complaining of a headache and stomach ache. So I went to check on him and he also had a fever. So I gave him medicine and later he threw up. :\
So.......I took the birthday girl and my oldest son along with 4 birthday guests...to The Freedom Station!
Lot more money than I had planned on spending for this day...and we had to leave my youngest and the sick one at home. :(
But is was the birthday girls day and she had a good time! And that was the point of the day! :)

Day 23...2008 .nervous.

My son was in a Spelling Bee today.
He was so nervous sitting up on stage.
As the room filled up he kept looking at me...more and more nervous each time.
But when it came time for him to stand up and spell he was so confident!
He made it through four rounds!
He did very well! We were very proud of him! =)

My husband reminded me that we have some shop lights. So I decided to try those out. They work much better than the desk lamp.
Still nowhere near perfect. But this was almost sooc, I did a defog and crop.

Day 18...2008 .a study in lighting.

So...I started taking a photography course two years ago...NYIP (New York Institute of Photography). I got into and and was blowing through the lessons like nothing. Then I just stopped. I never sent in any of the photo projects...or comprehension tests...
Luckily, you have 3 years to finish. Well I have a year to finish now and I am going to finish!
I am on Unit 3 of 6. I got together all the shots for the first 2 Units so that is behind me.
Now I am on lighting. I know nothing about lighting so these shots are quite rough! But you gotta start somewhere! =)
Lessons learned today:
#1: (and most important I think!) Don't put a 100Watt bulb in a 40Watt lamp...oops!
I didn't even check the watts when I put it in. There were no disasters but it got pretty hot and smelly!
#2: Two year olds make pretty good light turner on-ers! LOL!
#3: I want real lights...but...and desk lamp works if you have to use it!
#4: I am going to love studio lighting! =)
#5: Open up that aperture!
#6: WB-Must do a custom white balance.
The first image is 90* sidelighting.
Second image is 45* sidelighting.
Third image is 45* sidelight with a shoot-through umbrella.
These had to be lightened quite a bit...yet another thing I have to get the hang of...exposure using lighting.

If tomorrow all the things were gone,

And I had to start again,

to be livin here today.

.back to school.
I could handle always being on break!
But since I have started a new 365(366...leap year!) I have been loving having to get out and take the boys to school.
I hadn't realized how much doing last years 365 had dragged me down. I never really wanted to pick up my camera. I did it most days only because I HAD too.
But now I have found that with a 365 that is whatever I choose and not just me...I am LOVING IT!
And the weather has been great for pictures the last week!

I am going to love/hate this whole 366 of whatever I want!
I am such a homebody! So I will love it because it will make me get out more.
Otherwise this will get boring and old FAST! Kinda like my 365 last year did... :(

Bet you all thought you were done seein' my annoying blogs didn't you!
I probably shouldn't have bothered...
A little over a mile away...50mm lens on the camera...no tripod...through the trees...no shoes...really cold...ran out the door cuz I heard tons going off...had no idea they were doing them! Still...I can't deny the urge to take fireworks pics!
Here's to a new year and the start of a new 365...or 366! =)
Full of randomness...and no more me! HAHA!!!
